While Demi Lovato has an adventurous reputation for rocking numerous hairstyles from tons of extensions to bright blue, her latest look ranks among her boldest.
Just days after rocking waist-length blonde tresses at the People’s Choice Awards, the 28-year-old Sober singer unveiled her edgy half-shaven blonde pixie cut.
As she posed up a storm with her new hairdo in a semi-sheer blouse and leather vest for social media, the sides and back of the newly-single star’s head were buzzed.
‘I did a thing….’ she cheekily captioned her announcement with a close-up of her ‘undercut pixie cut,’ which featured slightly longer layers on the top from behind.
In the shot, she could be seen running her perfectly manicured fingers through her chopped locks, while sporting a black leather jacket and massive hoop earrings.
Within a few hours, she returned to Instagram to give her more than 93.3 million followers a view of the front of her transformative new appearance.
Oozing confidence, Lovato smoldered intensely at the camera as she flashed her tattoo of a lion’s face on the back of her hand, which she got in 2017.
Throughout the slideshow, she turned to the side to capture her striking profile, sculpted cheekbones and piercing brown eyes.
As she looked off into the distance, she pursed her glossy nude pout and stood in a Wonder Woman pose with both hands on her trim hips.
Additionally, she credited her glam team, hairdresser Paul Norton, celebrity makeup artist Rokael, wardrobe stylist Siena Montesano for her latest look, photographed by Angelo Kritikos.
Her drastic cut comes after she joked about the brevity of her whirlwind six-month relationship with Max Ehrich, while hosting the 46th People’s Choice Awards on Sunday night.
She joked: ‘This year has been the longest three years of my life. Don’t get me wrong, it started out amazing. I performed at the Grammys and sung the National Anthem at the Super Bowl.
‘But then COVID hit and everything shut down, so I did what everyone else did. I went into lockdown mode, and got engaged. I got into painting, photography, meditation, tested the limits of Postmates Unlimited.’

‘Also, I didn’t know this could happen, but reached the end of Instagram four times. I binged seven seasons of Pretty Little Liars, got un-engaged, and went looking for aliens in the desert. So basically, the same as everyone else!’
Demi met the 29-year-old Daytime Emmy nominee in March and they began quarantining together immediately, got engaged in July, and then abruptly split in September.
She also recently opened up about her ‘rollercoaster’ of a year, including what she’s taken away after her messy split from Ehrich, as she appeared this week on Today With Hoda & Jenna.

The 28-year-old said: ‘[This year has] been such a rollercoaster. I mean, honestly, for me, the beginning of the year started out, I was on this trajectory to have a pretty eventful career, and I was planning my comeback.’
Lovato added: ‘I think the most important thing that I’ve learned is how much I am OK with myself and loving myself. It wasn’t until this year that I really started exploring the things that bring joy to my life in little ways.’

A source told Us Weekly at the time that she ‘is used to being the star in their dynamic, and Max is really loving the newfound attention. He is really excited about all the career opportunities coming his way.’
Ehrich has not hesitated to share his side, even claiming that he found out about their split through the media, which has been refuted by several outlets.
He took to his Instagram Story last month, after a brief hiatus, comparing himself to Pete Davidson and the fallout of ex Ariana Grande’s breakup track Thank U, Next.

The Pregnancy Pact actor said: ‘Pete Davidson didn’t deserve to feel this way. You think she wrote that text to Mac Miller? Open your eyes. Calculated PR stunt. But my team is going to hate me for saying any of this.’
It came after Lovato released her song Still Have Me in late September, inspired by their very fresh split.
She sings in the emotional ballad: ‘I’m a mess and I’m still broken / But I’m finding my way back / And it feels like someone’s stolen / All the light I ever had … I don’t have much but at least I still have me.’

Ehrich responded in his Insta Story: ‘I hope this makes you happy. Enjoy. You just lost someone who loved you fully, completely, infinitely, for everything.’
‘I thought I found the real deal. Now I found out that I was used. But I hope the song is No. 1 because you know what? If that’s what someone wants in the material world, here you go, you have it,’ he continued.
He subsequently released his own debut single Afraid, which he told Billboard was written while he was ‘falling in love,’ although he didn’t mention Lovato by name.
Quarantine fling: Lovato and Ehrich moved in together for quarantine, shortly after they were first romantically linked in March, later announcing their engagement in July
